Susan is a graduate of Simmons University (1985) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. After graduating, she worked as a physical therapist at Sports Medicine Portsmouth Orthopaedics for 14 years, where she acquired the responsibility of Co-Director and eventually Clinic Director. Sue also spent time at UNH pursuing athletic training, and in 1990 became a Certified Athletic Training covering local high school teams and athletic events. Additionally, Sue continued as adjunct faculty at UNH, where she was an assistant teacher in the athletic training department.
In 2002 Sue followed her passion and opened Abilities Physical Therapy & Wellness Center, establishing itself as a leader in physical therapy in the Portsmouth community. While managing all aspects of running a business and providing physical therapy care, Sue has prioritize continuing education including a Certification in Dry Needling and as a Certified Pilates Instructor.
In October 2020 Sue and her team joined the MVPT family, where she now functions as the Managing Partner at MVPT Physical Therapy Portsmouth.
Over the years, Sue has participated in three medical mission trips to Guayaquil, Ecuador with other medical staff at Portsmouth Hospital through a program known as “Annie’s Angels.” While abroad Sue performed physical therapy on patients who received total knee replacements through the program, providing them with the help and care they needed to get back on their feet. Outside of the clinic you can find Sue paddle boarding or on the tennis court or spending time with her husband, Richard, and her two daughters, Erica and Katherine.
